About Carol Stall
I am one of those people who are born to
teach. I realized at a young age that I wanted to pass on to others the
knowledge and wisdom that brings peace and happiness.
My goal since the 1970’s, when I first found Yoga, has
been to assist in the raising of consciousness on Earth. My masterful and gifted
yoga teachers gave method and intention to my own teaching and nurtured my
ability to teach Yoga with the kind of deep, inward focus that is not available
in what might be described as “monkey see, monkey do” yoga classes.
I first began studying Yoga in 1973 and started teaching
yoga classes in 1979 at the request of several friends and colleagues who
observed positive and apparently noticeable changes in me. People began to
describe me as someone who "has it all together" and asked me where my "inner
peace" was coming from. So I started on this road, this journey, this mission,
unsought and unplanned in my imagined life, though it was. As Carolyn Myss says,
"Want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans!"
Here's what I can say with confidence: I bring to my
teaching the best of what I have learned from many teachers and a variety of
yoga and meditation traditions. Especially significant in my work are teachings
gathered from the work of internationally recognized yoga teachers, Donna Farhi,
Rossella Baroncini, Irene Beer, and Vanda Scaravelli; from Body Mind Centering
founder Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen; and from Shri Anandi Ma, a realized Master and
the spiritual leader of Kundalini Maha Yoga, a lineage that originated thousands
of years ago in India. Since 1990, I
have operated a holistic healing and yoga teaching practice in the Dallas area.
In 2003, together with Vicki Johnson, I founded Namasté USA, a yoga teacher
training program based on Vanda Scaravelli’s unique and inwardly powerful
approach to yoga asana practice. Prior to this, I mentored yoga teacher training
candidates in association with Namasté International’s 500-hour certification
program. I am now in the process of
completing a book of poetry, written over a span of about 45 years and put on
the back shelf for far too long. Concurrently, I am writing and editing a
collection of quotations from spiritual wisdom that point to the mystical
underpinnings of Yoga. This book will appeal to both yoga students and teachers
who appreciate Yoga's deeper practices. |
